Welders help construct a study

Walking by a construction site, I saw some welders working on some I-beams, so I did these Bic ballpoint pen sketches. Later in my studio, I used them as a basis for this value study in Manga Studio 5 to test tonal vectors, layer masks, combining modes, rulers and erasers.
